February 2025 Update

TRIGGER WARNING (images of dead/neglected animals): Two innocent puppies were found dead one morning, callously dumped in a tray outside our shelter. Instead of being given a chance, they were left exposed to the cold. Their short lives were stolen from them. We are heartbroken.

3-month-old female amputee from last month:

Last month, we rescued this puppy that had been brought to us by some kind people who saw her on the street. (https://www.facebook.com/share/v/19yyFGxFFX/). Our vet informed us that she had been hit by a car at least one week earlier, judging by her injuries.  An Association agreed to sponsor surgery to have her leg amputated. The surgery was a success, and she is now recovering in a foster home.

Now, she is like the difference between night and day. The sad, fearful and suffering creature we rescued is now a happy, playful and curious puppy. It is amazing what just a few weeks in a loving foster home can do.

This little puppy's story is one of resilience and compassion. Found crawling in El Khader by Shadia Issa, an X-ray at @Al Buraq revealed a broken pelvis. We were fortunate to find a sponsor who funded her surgery. Puppy is now recovering and will need time to heal, but she's going to make a full recovery. Thank you to everyone who helped!

This female Husky was running loose in Abu Njaim, a village near Bethlehem. We assumed that she was an abandoned pet because she was so friendly. A man in that area owns a Pitbull that bit her front leg very hard. He did not take her to a vet. Instead, he applied an improvised cast. According to what this man said, the husky remained on the loose in the area and faced repeated attacks from other dogs. He alerted our worker, Sulaiman, who told Diana. Diana sent a taxi to bring her to Dr. Mohammad Raji. Her front leg had developed a severe infection.

She stayed overnight at Diana’s home where she ate two dishes of dry food and drank a lot of water. She was very skinny and neglected. Likely for the first time in her life, she slept on warm blankets indoors.

The next day she went to an Association that sponsored surgery to amputate her leg. The poor thing has been through so much.

Thank you to the man from Abu Njaim for alerting Sulaiman to her plight, Dr. Raji and the Association for their efforts in this husky’s rescue.

This 2-month-old male puppy was found with his family under a water tank in the cold and snow. He was hit by a car, resulting in exposed bones and severe swelling. After immediate vet care from Mohammad Raji and a night of comfort at Diana’s home, he entered into the care of an Association that sponsored his surgery. He is now recovering in a foster home.

We're grateful to the swift action of Dr. Raji and the Association that saved puppy’s life.

Due to lack of space at the shelter, we were unable to take in puppy’s mother and siblings. But the kind citizen who alerted our worker, Sulaiman, to puppy’s injuries is feeding them. We hope that they will make it through this snowy weather.
